HUB-UBB COMMUNITY PROJECT
Hub-Ubb group is a small collective of
like-minded creative individuals with a passion for people,
which came into being early in 2004 with the aim of helping
regenerate the 491 gallery project and facilitate possitive,
creative community engagement in this area of east London.
Firstly at the 491 gallery project, Leytonstone, with
an aim of extending this provision and invitation further
afield. We work diligently to inspire, support and facilitate
our community and creative individules, helping to bring
dreams, ideas and ideals into fruition.
We provide training through a variety of skill shares
and workshops, we bring peope together to celebrate their
diversity and promote positive development and a sense
of belonging, which is especially imperitive to a number
of our vunerable community members.
It is our intention to build and inclusive likeminded
creative network that encourages education, environmental
consciousness, regeneration, creative expression, self
sustainability, and positive global contribution.
We welcome people of all ages, and from all walks of life
to come and enjoy our workshops, exhibitions and projects
whilst also taking the opportunity to share their own
unique talents and skills in a fun and friendly way.
We opperate with an environmentally and socially aware
approach.
We are currently an unfunded group working voluntarily
within the 491 gallery, which itself is sustained solely
by donations and voluntary help from its community members.

THE HUB-UBB:
Thinking
Globally
Acting Locally
What does 'environmentally
& socially' awareness mean for us?
Well,
some of the things we do, aim to achieve &practice
through our efforts are simple but have a great impact
!...
* The regeneration of derilict or un-used space into vibrant
creative space.
* Engaging with the community on a creative level, through
workshops, exhibitions & creative
opportunities.
Some of our home practices we engage
with & aim to achieve ...
* Recycle our own waste, inc all our compostables into
our garden, glass & tins etc to the council provided
areas.
* Regeneration using recyced materials. Wood, glass ...
anything really.
* Creating more recycled art by using the community network
as a resource for materials.(i.e forest
recycling)
* Promote recycling & it's benifits to the community.
